Simple Vine of Leaves Crochet Pattern for Beginners

Simple Vine of Leaves Crochet Pattern

For this pattern, you will need to know the following stitches and abbreviations:

Materials

This pattern can be worked up with any weight yarn as well as any size hook, just know that altering the sized with change how big the final project is. For this pattern, I used:

  • weight 4 100% acrylic yarn (I am using a light green… my label is gone so unfortunately I don’t know the exact color but I’m 99% sure it is I Love This Yarn brand)
  • 5 mm crochet hook
  • Scissors

Vine of Leaves Pattern

This pattern is worked in a 2 round repeat.

To begin, start with a slip knot on your hook and chain 4.

R1: In the second chain from the hook (2sc, hdc, dc, hdc, 2sc). Turn. (7 stitches)

R2: Sc, sc, 2hdc, (dc, ch 3 sl st into 3rd chain from hook, dc) 2hdc, sc, sc. Sl st into back of initial chain you started R1 in. (10 stitches, 1 ch3 point)

If continuing the vine, ch 8 and repeat R1 and R2 until desired length is reached. Then tie off and weave in your ends and enjoy your new leaf vine that YOU made!
